Hadith #40588
وعن أبي هريرة رضي الله عنه أن رجلا أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يتقاضاه فأغلظ له فهم به أصحابه، فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : "دعوه فإن لصاحب الحق مقالا" ثم قال: "أعطوه سنا مثل سنه" قالوا: يا رسول الله لا نجد إلا أمثل من سنه، قال: "أعطوه فإن خيركم أحسنكم قضاء" ((متفق عليه)) .
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, that a man came to the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, to sue him, and he treated him harshly, so his companions treated him harshly. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Leave him, for the one who has the right has a say.” Then he said: “Give him a tooth equal to his own.” They said: O Messenger of God, we do not find anyone but a tooth better than his. He said: “Give him, for the best of you is the one who best judges.” ((Agreed upon)).
