Hadith #46036
وعن أنس رضي الله عنه أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم، كان إذا تكلم بكلمة أعادها ثلاثًا حتى تفهم عنه، وإذا أتى على قوم فسلم عليهم سلم عليهم ثلاثًا‏.‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه البخاري‏)‏‏)‏‏ وهذا محمول على ما إذا كان الجمع كثيرًا‏.‏
On the authority of Anas, may God be pleased with him, that if the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, spoke a word, he would repeat it three times until it was understood from him, and if he came to a people and greeted them, he would greet them three times. ((Narrated by Al-Bukhari)) This depends on whether the combination is large
