Hadith #46567
عن ابن عمر، رضي الله عنهما، عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ، قال: "إن الله تعالى ينهاكم أن تحلفوا بآبائكم، فمن كان حالفًا، فليحلف بالله، أو ليصمت" ((متفق عليه)).
وفي رواية في الصحيح "فمن كان حالفًا فلا يحلف إلا بالله أو ليسكت".
On the authority of Ibn Omar, may God be pleased with them both, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he said: “God Almighty forbids you from swearing by your fathers, so whoever swears, let him swear by God, or remain silent” ((Agreed upon)).
And in a narration in the Sahih, “Whoever swears an oath should not swear except by God or remain silent.”
