Hadith #40609
On the authority of Tariq bin Ashim, may God be pleased with him, he said: When a man converted to Islam, the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, taught him prayer, and then commanded him to supplicate with these words: “O God, forgive me, have mercy on me, guide me, pardon me, and provide for me” ((Narrated by Muslim)). And in his narration on the authority of Tariq, he heard the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and a man came to him, He said: O Messenger of God, how do I say when I ask my Lord? He said: “Say: Oh God, forgive me, have mercy on me, protect me, and provide for me, for these will bring together your world and your afterlife.”
