حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَبِيعَةَ سِنَانٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: أَخَذَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم غُصْنًا فَ نَفَضَهُ فَلَمْ يَنْتَفِضْ، ثُمَّ نَفَضَهُ فَلَمْ يَنْتَفِضْ، ثُمَّ نَفَضَهُ فَانْتَفَضَ، قَالَ: إِنَّ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، وَالْحَمْدَ لِلَّهِ، وَلاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ، يَنْفُضْنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا تَنْفُضُ الشَّجَرَةُ وَرَقَهَا.
Abu Muammar told us, he said: Abdul-Warith told us, he said: Abu Rabi’ah Sinan told us, he said: Anas bin Malik told us, he said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, took a branch and shook it, but it did not shake. Then he shook it, but it did not shake. Then he shook it, and it did not shake. He said: Glory be to God. Praise be to God, and there is no god but God. They shed sins just as a tree sheds its leaves.
