حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ‏:‏ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ‏:‏ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، أَيُّ الصَّدَقَةِ أَفْضَلُ أَجْرًا‏؟‏ قَالَ‏:‏ أَمَا وَأَبِيكَ لَتُنَبَّأَنَّهُ‏:‏ أَنْ تَصَدَّقَ وَأَنْتَ صَحِيحٌ شَحِيحٌ تَخْشَى الْفَقْرَ، وَتَأْمُلُ الْغِنَى، وَلاَ تُمْهِلْ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ قُلْتَ‏:‏ لِفُلاَنٍ كَذَا، وَلِفُلاَنٍ كَذَا، وَقَدْ كَانَ لِفلانٍ‏.‏
Muhammad bin Salam told us, he said: Muhammad bin Fudayl bin Ghazwan told us, on the authority of Amara, on the authority of Abu Zur’ah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah: It came A man went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Messenger of God, which charity has the best reward? He said: By your father, you must tell him: Give alms even though you are healthy and miserly, fearing poverty, hoping for wealth, and do not delay until, when you reach the throat, you say: To so-and-so, and to so-and-so.
