حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَطَاءٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: لاَ أَرَى أَحَدًا يَعْمَلُ بِهَذِهِ الْآيَةِ: {يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّا خَلَقْنَاكُمْ مِنْ ذَكَرٍ وَأُنْثَى} حَتَّى بَلَغَ: {إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ}، فَيَقُولُ الرَّجُلُ لِلرَّجُلِ: أَنَا أَكْرَمُ مِنْكَ، فَلَيْسَ أَحَدٌ أَكْرَمَ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلا بِتَقْوَى اللهِ.
Abdul Rahman bin Al Mubarak told us, he said: Yahya bin Saeed told us, he said: Abdul Malik told us, he said: Ata told us, on the authority of Ibn Abbas said: I do not see anyone acting on this verse: {O people! Indeed, We created you from a male and a female} until he reached: {Indeed, the most honorable of you in the sight of God is the most pious of you}, so the man says to the man: I am more honorable than you, for no one is more honorable than anyone else except through fear of God.
