Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48361

On the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah bin Utbah, he said: I entered upon Aisha and said, “Don’t you tell me about the illness of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace?” She said, “Yes, the weight of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Did the people pray?” We said, “No, O Messenger of God,” while they were waiting for you. He said, “Put water for me in “The one who is dyed,” she said, so we did so, so he took a bath and went to take a bath, then he fainted, then he woke up and said, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: “Did the people pray?” We said, “No, they are waiting for you, O Messenger of God.” He said, “Put water in the basin for me.” She said, so he sat down and washed himself, then he went to the waterfall and fainted. Then he woke up He said: “Did the people pray?” We said, “No, they are waiting for you, O Messenger of God.” He said, “Put water in the basin for me.” So he sat down and washed himself, then he went to a waterfall and fainted. Then he fainted. He woke up and said: “The people prayed.” We said, “No, they are waiting for you, O Messenger of God, while the people are sitting in the mosque.” They wait for the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, for the final evening prayer. So the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent to Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer. The Messenger came to him and said that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, He commands you to lead the people in prayer. Abu said Bakr, and he was a gentle man, O Omar, lead people in prayer. Omar said to him, “You have more right to that.” So Abu Bakr prayed in those days, and then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, prayed. He, peace and blessings be upon him, found lightness in himself and went out between two men, one of whom was Al-Abbas for the noon prayer, and Abu Bakr was leading the people in prayer. When Abu Bakr saw him, he went to be late, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, motioned to him not to be late. He said: “He made me sit next to him.” So they made him sit next to Abu Bakr while the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was sitting. Ubaid Allah said: So I entered upon Abdullah bin Abbas. So I said to him, “Should I not show you what Aisha told me about the illness of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace?” He said, “Bring it.” So I presented her hadith to him, and he did not deny anything of it except that he said, “She named for you the man who was with Abbas.” I said, “No.” He said, “It is Ali, may God be pleased with him.” About him
