Hadith #49022
On the authority of Ata’ bin Yassar, on the authority of a mursal, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “It is not permissible to give charity to a rich person except for five things: for those who fight in the cause of God.” Or to someone who worked on it, or to a debtor, or to a man who bought it with his own money, or to a man who had a poor neighbor and gave alms to the poor person. So he gave gifts to the poor and the rich.” Narrated by Malik and Abu Dawud, and in a narration by Abu Dawud on the authority of Abu Sa’id: “A wayfarer.”
