Hadith #50744
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was brought to a man who had drunk alcohol and said: “Strike him.” Among us is the one who strikes with his hand and the one who strikes. With his garment and his sandal, then he said: “They made him weep.” So they approached him, saying: You did not fear God, you did not fear God, and you did not fear God. You were ashamed of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and some of the people said: May God disgrace you. He said: “Do not say like that, do not help Satan against him, but say: O God, forgive him, O God, have mercy on him.” Narrated by Abu Dawood
