Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #51968

On the authority of Saeed bin Al-Musayyab, he met Abu Hurairah, and Abu Hurairah said: I ask God to bring me and you together in the market of Paradise. Saeed said: Is there a market there? He said: Yes, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, informed me: “When the people of Paradise enter it, they will reside therein thanks to their deeds.” Then the call to prayer is given to them on Friday, one of the days of this world, and they visit their Lord, and His Throne will appear to them, and He will appear to them in a garden of Gardens of Paradise, and there will be placed for them pulpits of light, and pulpits of pearls, and pulpits of rubies, and pulpits of aquamarine, and pulpits of gold, and pulpits of silver. The lowest of them - and the lowly among them - sit on the dunes of musk and camphor, and they do not think that the people of the thrones have a better seat than them.” Abu Hurairah said: I said: O Messenger of God, do we see our Lord? He said: “Yes. Do you practice seeing the sun and moon on a full-moon night?” We said: No. He said: “Likewise, you will not compete in seeing your Lord, and there will not remain a man in that gathering except that God will give him a lecture until he says to the man: Among them is: O so-and-so, son of so-and-so, do you remember the day you said such-and-such? Then it reminds him of some of his treachery in this world, and he says: O Lord, will you not forgive me? And he says: Yes Because of the abundance of my forgiveness, you have reached this state of yours. While they were in that state, a cloud covered them from above them and rained down upon them perfume, the scent of which they had never smelled anything. And our Lord says: Arise. As long as I have prepared for you of dignity, take whatever you desire, and we will bring a market full of it. The angels are in it. The like of it has not been seen by the eyes, nor has the ears heard, nor has it entered the hearts, so what we desire is brought to us. It is not for sale. Therein, no purchase can be made, and in that market the people of Paradise will meet one another.” He said: “Then the man of high status will come.” Then he meets those who are inferior to him - and none of them are worldly - and he is horrified by what he sees on them in terms of clothing, while the end of his speech ends until he imagines that they are better than him, and that is No one should be sad about it. Then we will go to our homes and our wives will meet us and say: Welcome, you have come. Indeed, you have a beauty that is better than the one you left us with. He says: We are sitting with our Lord, the Mighty, today, and we have the right to be treated like that. We turned.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, and Al-Tirmidhi said: This is a strange hadith.
