Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #52254

Then he put the people down and they ate and we looked at The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, put a morsel in his mouth and then said, “I find the meat of a sheep that was taken without the permission of its owner.” The woman sent You say, O Messenger of God, I was sent to Al-Naqi’, which is a place where sheep are sold, to buy a sheep for me, but there was none, so I sent to a neighbor of mine who had bought He sent a sheep to me with its price, but it was not found, so I sent it to his wife, and she sent it to me, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Peace and blessings of God be upon him: “Feed the prisoners this food.” Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Bayhaqi in Evidence of Prophethood.
