Sunan an-Nasa'i — Hadith #24336

Has told us ['Ali bin Hujr] has told us [Sharik] from [Thariq] from [Sa'id bin Al Musayyab], he said; "There is nothing wrong with renting out empty land for gold or silver." He also said; "If someone pays property to another person with qirod (giving capital to trade with a share in the profits) and he wants to write it in a letter then he writes: This is a letter written by so and so bin so and so with his consent in good health and his license to Fulan bin so and so, that you have handed over to me at the beginning of the month of this year, a total of ten thousand dirhams clearly and well with a weight of seven qiradh on the basis of piety to Allah whether in secret or openly, and fulfilling the trust so that I can buy with it according to my wishes whatever I want to buy, and I will arrange it as I see fit to organize it from various types of trade, and I will take out what I want wherever I want and sell what I want to sell from the goods I have bought, either in cash or on credit, either with money or with goods on the basis that I do everything according to my opinion, and I will represent it to the person who wishes, and everything that Allah has provided for it is in the form of excess and profit outside the capital that you have handed over I have received the amount stated in this letter, and it is divided between you and me into two parts, half for you according to your capital, and half for me according to my full work, if anything is missing, it will be the responsibility of the capital. I received ten thousand dirhams clearly and properly at the beginning of this month of this year, and it became your qiradh which is with me with the conditions stated in this letter. Has stated so and so. If he wants to free him to buy and sell on credit, then he writes; and you have forbidden me to buy and sell on credit.
