Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26682

Nasr bin Ali, Saeed bin Abdul Rahman, and more than one person narrated to us. They said, Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Abu Salamah, On the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, he said: “Whoever performs one rak’ah of prayer has performed the prayer.” Abu Issa said. This is a hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others. They said, “Who has realized One rak’ah of Friday prayer is followed by another, and whoever joins them sitting prays four. This is what Sufyan al-Thawri and Ibn al-Mubarak say.
