حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَغَرِّ بْنِ الصَّبَّاحِ، عَنْ خَلِيفَةَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ عَاصِمٍ، أَنَّهُ أَسْلَمَ فَأَمَرَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ يَسْتَحِبُّونَ لِلرَّجُلِ إِذَا أَسْلَمَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ وَيَغْسِلَ ثِيَابَهُ .
Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Abdul Rahman bin Mahdi narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Aghar bin Al-Sabbah, on the authority of Khalifa bin Husayn, on the authority of Qais Bin Asim, he converted to Islam, so the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, ordered him to wash with water and lotus leaves. He said, and in the chapter on the authority of Abu Hurairah. Abu Issa said: This is a good hadith. We do not know of it except from this perspective. And acting on it according to the people of knowledge is desirable for a man. If he converts to Islam, he must bathe and wash his clothes.
