Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26823

Qutaibah narrated to us, Al-Layth bin Saad narrated to us, on the authority of Sa’id bin Abi Sa’id, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Bujaid, on the authority of his grandmother, Umm Bujaid, - She was among those who pledged allegiance to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. She said, “O Messenger of God, the poor man is standing at my door, and I cannot find anything for him to give him.” So the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to her, “If you do not find anything to give him except a burnt hoove, then give it to him in his hand.” He said. On the authority of Ali, Hussein bin Ali, Abu Hurairah and Abu Umamah. Abu Issa said the hadith of Umm is good and hasan. True.
