Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28743

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, Abu Dawud told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Mujahid, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He, peace and blessings be upon him, recited this verse: (Fear God as He should be feared, and do not die except as Muslims.) The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said “If a drop of Zaqqum were dropped into the abode of the world, it would spoil the livelihood of the people of the world, so what about those whose food it is?” he said. Abu Issa, this is a good and authentic hadith.
