Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28744

Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman told us, Asim bin Yusuf told us, Qutba bin Abdul Aziz told us, on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Shimr bin Attiya, on the authority of Shahr bin Hawshab, on the authority of Umm al-Darda’, on the authority of Abu al-Darda’, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “He will be thrown upon the people of Hell. Hunger makes amends for the torment they are in, so they seek help and are provided with food from a cow that does not fatten or relieve hunger, so they seek help. With food, they will be relieved of distressing food, and they will remember that they used to relieve distress in this world with drink, so they will seek relief with drink, and it will be relieved. To them is the burning with iron hooks. When it approaches their faces, it maims their faces. When it enters their bellies, it cuts off what is in their bellies. So they say, “Call upon the keepers of Hell.” They say, “Did you not bring to you your messengers with clear proofs?” They said, “Yes.” They said, “Then pray. What is the supplication of the disbelievers?” Except in error. He said, and they say, “Call Malik,” and they say: (O Malik, let your Lord destroy us.) He said, and he answers them: (Indeed, you “They will remain.” Al-A’mash said, “I have been informed that between their supplication and the response of their master is a thousand years.” He said, “So they will say, ‘Call upon your Lord. There is no one better than your Lord. So they say: (Our Lord, our misery has overcome us, and we have been a people astray. * Our Lord, remove us from it. If we return Indeed, we are wrongdoers.) He said, and He answered them: (Be humiliated therein and do not speak.) He said, then they despair of all goodness, and at that time They begin to exclaim, regret, and woe.” Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman said, “And the people do not raise this hadith.” Abu said. Jesus, we only know this hadith on the authority of Al-A’mash, on the authority of Shimr ibn Atiya, on the authority of Shahr ibn Hawshab, on the authority of Umm al-Darda’, on the authority of Abu al-Darda’, who said: It is not raised. Qutbah ibn Abd al-Aziz is trustworthy according to the people of hadith.
