Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29790

Al-Ansari told us, Ishaq bin Musa told us, Yunus bin Bukayr told us, Muhammad bin Ishaq told us, Al-Zuhri told me, on the authority of Urwa, on the authority of Aisha, that she said: The first thing the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, initiated from prophecy was when God wanted His honor and mercy to His servants. He did not see anything, but something like the breaking of dawn came, so he remained in that state as long as God wished for him to remain, and solitude was endearing to him, but nothing was there. More beloved to him than being alone. Abu Issa said: This is a good and strange hadith.
