حديث عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النّهْدِيِّ، قَالَ: أَتَانَا كِتَابُ عُمَرَ مَع عُتْبَةَ بْنِ فَرْقَدٍ، بِأَذْرَبِيجَانَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، نَهى عَنِ الْحَرِيرِ إِلاَّ هكَذَا؛ وَأَشَارَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ اللَّتَيْنِ تَلِيَانِ الإِبْهَامَ، قَالَ: فِيمَا عَلِمْنَا، أَنَّهُ يَعْنِي الأَعْلاَمَ
The hadith of Omar, on the authority of Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, said: A letter from Omar came to us from Utba bin Farqad, in Azerbaijan, stating that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade Silk, otherwise; He pointed with his two fingers, which were the same as the thumb, and said: As far as we know, he means the flags.
