قال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إذا جاء أهل الأشعرية بليل فأنا أعرفهم بصوت تلاوتهم القرآن، وأعرف بيوتهم بصوت قراءة القرآن ليلاً، وإن كنت أعرفهم بصوت قراءة القرآن ليلاً».
