قال: «كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إذا أعطاني شيئاً قلت: أعطه من هو أفقر مني» قال: «خذه، فإذا جاءك هذا المال وأنت غير جشع وسألته». إذا لم يكن الأمر كذلك، فاقبله وقم بمطابقته مع الممتلكات الخاصة بك. ثم تناوله إن شئت، أو تبرع به. ثم لا تترك عقلك لذلك.\nفقال سالم بن عبد الله بن عمر: ولهذا لم يكن (أبي) عبد الله يعطي أحداً شيئاً.
He said, "When Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) used to give me something, I used to say, 'Give it to someone who is more needy than me.'" (Once) he said, "Take it. When this wealth comes to you, and you are not greedy, and you beg for it." If not, accept it and match it with your property. Then eat it if you wish, or donate it. Moreover, do not leave your mind to it.”\nSalem bin Abdullah bin Umar said, “That is why (my father) Abdullah did not give anything to anyone.
