Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #38824

On the authority of Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-Aas, may God be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “The most beloved prayer to God is the prayer of David, and the most beloved fast to God is the fasting of David. He used to sleep half the night, get up a third of it, sleep a sixth of it, fast one day and break his fast the next.” (Agreed upon)
