Hadith #38982
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “If a man says: The people are destroyed, then he has destroyed them” ((Narrated by Muslim)). The well-known narration: He destroyed them by raising the kāf, and it was narrated by putting it in the accusative case, and this is forbidden. For the people, and it is higher than them, this is forbidden, and as for those who said it because of the deficiency he sees in the people in the matter of their religion, And he said it out of sadness for them, and for the religion, there is nothing wrong with it. This is how the scholars interpreted it and explained it, and the eminent imams who said it were: Malik bin Anas, Al-Khattabi, Al-Humaydi and others, and I explained it in the book Al-Adhkar.
