Mishkatul Masabih — Hadith #39731

On the authority of Ubadah ibn al-Samit, he said: Whenever the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, followed a funeral, he would not sit until it was placed in the grave, then a Jewish rabbi was presented to him and he said To him: This is how we are placed, O Muhammad. He said: Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sat down and said: “Disagree with them.” Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah, and he said Al-Tirmidhi: This is a strange hadith, and Bishr bin Rafi’, the narrator, is not strong.
