Mishkatul Masabih — Hadith #39739

On the authority of Al-Muttalib ibn Abi Wada’ah, he said: When Uthman ibn Mad’un died, his funeral was brought out and he was buried. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, ordered a man to come to him. With a stone, but he was unable to carry it, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stood up to him and fell down in his arms. Al-Muttalib said: The one who tells me on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: It is as if I were looking at the whites of the arms of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, when he looked away from them, then he picked them up and placed them at his head and said: “I can mark the grave with them.” My brother, and to him I will bury those of my family who died.” Narrated by Abu Dawood
