Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #40674

On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever kills a gecko in the first blow will have such-and-such a good deed, and whoever kills it in the second blow will have such-and-such a good deed, and less than the first, but if he kills it in the third blow, such-and-such a good deed will be earned him” ((Narrated by Muslim)). And in a narration: “Whoever kills In the first stroke, one hundred good deeds are written for him, less than that in the second, and less than that in the third That” ((Narrated by Muslim)). The linguists said: “The gecko” is the bone from Sam, a leper.
