Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45112

Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Nu`aym ibn Hakim al-Madaini narrated to us, on the authority of Abu Maryam, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said: I set out And the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, until we came to the Kaaba, and the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to me, “Sit down.” He went up on My shoulders, so I went to get him up, and he saw my weakness, so he came down and the Prophet of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, sat for me and said, “Climb on my shoulders.” So I climbed on his shoulders, he said, and he lifted me up, saying, “It seemed to me that if I wanted, I could reach the horizon of the sky, until I climbed on The house and on it was a statue of yellow or brass, so I moved it to its right, to its left, in front of it, and behind it, until I was able to do so. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to me, “Throw it,” so I threw it and it shattered just as bottles shatter. Then I descended. So I and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, set out, running ahead until we hid ourselves in our houses, for fear that any of the people would meet us.
