Hadith #45980
On the authority of Abu Hurairah, may God be pleased with him, he said: While a man was praying with his garment drawn down, the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said to him: “Go and perform ablution.” So he went and performed ablution, then he came and said: “Go and perform ablution.” A man said, O Messenger of God, why did you order him to perform ablution and then he remained silent about it? He said: “He was praying while his garment was drawn down, and God does not He accepts the prayer of a man lying down.” ((Narrated by Abu Dawud))
