Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46147

On the authority of Abu Qatada, may God be pleased with him, he said: If the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was traveling and getting married at night, he would lie on his right, and if he was getting married just before dawn, he would raise his arm and place his head on his palm” ((Narrated by Muslim)). The scholars said: He only raised his arm so that he would not fall asleep and miss the morning prayer after its time or at the beginning of its time.
