وعن أبي بكر رضي الله عنه قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم : "ألا أنبئكم بأكبر الكبائر؟" قلنا: بلى يا رسول الله. قال: "الإشراك بالله، وعقوق الوالدين" وكان متكئا فجلس، فقال: "ألا وقول الزور!" فما زال يكررها حتى قلنا: ليته سكت. متفق عليه
On the authority of Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, he said: The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Shall I not inform you of the greatest of the major sins?” We said: Yes, O Messenger of God. He said: “Associating partners with God and being disobedient to one’s parents.” He was reclining and sat down, so he said: “Except false speech!” He continued repeating it until We said: I wish he had been silent.
