Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #46529

On the authority of Umm Salamah, may God be pleased with her, she said: I was with the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and he was with Maimunah, when Ibn Umm Maktum came, and that was after we had been ordered to wear the hijab. The Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Hide yourself from him.” So we said: O Messenger of God, why is he blind and cannot see us or recognize us? Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Are you both blind?” Do you not see it?!” (Narrated by Abu Dawud Al-Tirmidhi said: He said it is a good and authentic hadith
