Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #46857

Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Bishr bin Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Shudhab, he said: I heard Malik bin Dinar narrates, on the authority of Abu Ghalib, on the authority of Umm al-Darda’, who said: Salman visited us from al-Mada’in to al-Sham, walking, and wearing a cloak. And underward, he said: meaning rolled up trousers, Ibn Shawdhab said: Salman was seen wearing a cloak, his head was covered with his ears falling off, meaning Because he was terrified. It was said to him: You mutilated yourself. He said: Indeed, the best is the best of the Hereafter.
