حَدَّثَنَا قَبِيصَةُ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الْجُرَيْرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَرْدِ، عَنِ اللَّجْلاَجِ، عَنْ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ: مَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ تَمَامَ النِّعْمَةِ، قَالَ: هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا تَمَامُ النِّعْمَةِ؟ قَالَ: تَمَامُ النِّعْمَةِ دُخُولُ الْجَنَّةِ، وَالْفَوْزُ مِنَ النَّارِ. ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَقُولُ: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الصَّبْرَ، قَالَ: قَدْ سَأَلْتَ رَبَّكَ الْبَلاَءَ، فَسَلْهُ الْعَافِيَةَ. وَمَرَّ عَلَى رَجُلٍ يَقُولُ: يَا ذَا الْجَلاَلِ وَالإِكْرَامِ، قَالَ: سَلْ.
Qabisah narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Jariri, on the authority of Abu Al-Ward, on the authority of Al-Lajlaj, on the authority of Muadh, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed by a man He says: Oh God, I ask you for the perfect blessing. He said: Do you know what the perfect blessing is? He said: the perfect blessing. Entry into Paradise and salvation from Hell. Then he passed by a man saying: Oh God, I ask you for patience. He said: You have asked your Lord for affliction. Ask him for good health. He passed by a man who said: O Possessor of Majesty and Honour. He said: Ask.
