Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #47443

Farwa and Ahmad bin Ishkab narrated to us, saying: Al-Qasim bin Malik Al-Muzani narrated to us, on the authority of Asim bin Kulayb, on the authority of Abu Burdah, who said: I entered upon Abu Musa, while he was at the house of his daughter, Umm al-Fadl ibn al-Abbas, and I sneezed and he did not smell me, and she sneezed and I smelled her, so I told My mother, when he came to her, she fell on him and said: My son sneezed, but you did not smell him. She sneezed, and I smelled him, and he said to her: I heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He says: If one of you sneezes and praises God, then smell him, and if he does not thank God, do not smell him, and if your son sneezes, he does not praise him. By God, I did not smell it. She sneezed and thanked God, so I smelled it and said: Well done.
