حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا مَخْلَدٌ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو الزُّبَيْرِ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ جَابِرًا يَقُولُ: سَلَّمَ نَاسٌ مِنَ الْيَهُودِ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقَالُوا: السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ، قَالَ: وَعَلَيْكُمْ، فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا وَغَضِبَتْ: أَلَمْ تَسْمَعْ مَا قَالُوا؟ قَالَ: بَلَى قَدْ سَمِعْتُ فَرَدَدْتُ عَلَيْهِمْ، نُجَابُ عَلَيْهِمْ، وَلا يُجَابُونَ فِينَا.
Muhammad bin Salam told us, he said: Mukhlid told us, he said: Ibn Jurayj told us, he said: Abu al-Zubayr told me that he heard Jabir He says: Some of the Jews greeted the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and they said: May peace be upon you. He said: And upon you, so Aisha, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: God turned away from her and became angry: Did you not hear what they said? He said: Yes, I heard, so I responded to them. We respond to them, but they do not respond to us.
