Hadith #47736
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: لَيْسَ الشَّدِيدُ بِالصُّرَعَةِ، إِنَّمَا الشَّدِيدُ الَّذِي يَمْلِكُ نَفْسَهُ عِنْدَ الْغَضَبِ.
Ismail told us, he said: Malik told me, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Sa`id ibn al-Musayyab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: The strong man is not the one who strikes, but the strong man is the one who controls himself when angry.
