Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49131

On the authority of Anas bin Malik, he said: Abu Talha was the most wealthy of the Ansari in Medina in terms of palm trees, and the most beloved of his wealth was Barha’a, which was the direction of the mosque. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to enter it and drink of the water in it that was good. Anas said, when I descended, “You will not attain righteousness until Spend from what you love) Abu Talha stood up and said, O Messenger of God, God Almighty says: (You will not attain righteousness until you spend from what you love) even if you love What do I have to do with Bayraha? It is a charity for God. I hope for its righteousness and its reserve with God. So put it, O Messenger of God, where God has shown you. Then the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Oh, that is profitable money, and I heard what you said, and I think that you should give it to the relatives.” Abu Talha said, “I will do it, O Messenger of God.” So Abu Talha divided it among his relatives and among his cousins.
