On the authority of Abdullah, the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to say when evening came: “The evening has come and the evening has come. The kingdom belongs to God, and praise be to God. There is no god but God.” Alone, He has no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him is praise, and He has power over all things. My Lord, I ask you for the best of this night. And the best of what comes after it, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of this night and the evil of what comes after it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and from the evil of arrogance or “Disbelief.” And in a narration: “From evil arrogance and arrogance. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from torment in the Fire and torment in the grave.” And when morning came, he said this as well: “In the morning, the kingdom belongs to God.” Narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi, but in his narration he did not mention: “From the evil of disbelief.”
