Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #49666

On the authority of Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, on the authority of his father, he said: Ammar ibn Yasir led a prayer with us, and he was brief in it, and some of the people said to him: You have shortened it. The prayer was concluded, and he said, “As for that, I made supplications during it with supplications that I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. When he rose A man from the people, who was my father, followed him, but he concealed himself, so he asked him about the supplication, then he came and told the people about it: “O God, with your knowledge.” The unseen and Your power over creation, keep me alive as long as You know that life is good for me, and cause me to die when You know that death is good for me, O God, and I ask You for Your fear in me. The unseen and the witnessed, and I ask you for the word of truth in contentment and anger, and I ask you for purpose in poverty and wealth, and I ask you for endless bliss. I ask you for the comfort of an eye that never ceases, and I ask you for contentment after judgment, and I ask you for the joy of life after death, and I ask you for the pleasure of seeing. To Your face and longing to meet You without harmful adversity or misleading temptation. O God, adorn us with the adornment of faith and make us truly guided.” . Narrated by Al-Nasa’i
