Qutaibah narrated to us, Hammad bin Zaid narrated to us, on the authority of Anas bin Sirin, he said: I asked Ibn Umar and I said, “Should I prolong the two rak’ahs of Fajr?” He said: “The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was He, peace and blessings be upon him, would pray two rak’ahs at night and pray the Witr prayer with one rak’ah, and he would pray the two rak’ahs with the call to prayer in his ear. That is, It reduces. He said, and on the authority of Aisha, Jabir, Al-Fadl ibn Abbas, Abu Ayyub, and Ibn Abbas. Abu Issa said the hadith of Ibn Umar. A hasan and authentic hadith. This is acted upon according to some people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the followers. They thought that it should be detailed. Between the two rak'ahs and the third, a man performs one rak'ah in Witr. This is what Malik, Al-Shafi'i, Ahmad, and Ishaq say.
