Some of the people of knowledge among the Companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and others saw the Witr as five, and they said that he should not sit in anything. I said: How can he perform the Witr prayer with the nine and seven? He said, “He prays two by two and says the salaam,” and he performed the Witr prayer with one.
