Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26845

Muslim bin Hajjaj narrated to us, Yahya bin Yahya narrated to us, Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, on the authority of Muhammad bin Amr, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Count the crescent of Sha`ban for Ramadan.” Abu Issa said, a hadith of Abu Hurairah that we do not know is like This is except from the hadith of Abu Muawiyah. The correct thing is what was narrated on the authority of Muhammad bin Amr, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said “Do not advance the month of Ramadan by one or two days.” And thus it was narrated on the authority of Yahya bin Abi Kathir, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Abu Huraira on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, similar to the hadith of Muhammad bin Amr Al-Laythi.
