Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #26844

Abu Sa`id Abdullah bin Sa`id al-Ashjaj narrated to us, Abu Khaled al-Ahmar narrated to us, on the authority of Amr bin Qais al-Malali, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Silah bin Zufar said, “We were with Ammar bin Yasser, and a praying sheep was brought and he said, ‘Eat.’ Then some of the people stepped aside and said, ‘I am fasting.’” Ammar said: Whoever fasts the day about which people doubt has disobeyed Abu al-Qasim, may God bless him and grant him peace. This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge among the companions of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.
