Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27212

Muhammad bin Bashar, Mahmoud bin Ghaylan, and Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khalal told us, they said: Abu Asim Al-Nabil told us, Sufyan told us, on the authority of Alqamah bin Marthad, on the authority of Suleiman bin Buraidah, on the authority of his father, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “I have forbidden you from Visiting graves. Muhammad was given permission to visit his mother’s grave, so visit her, for she reminds of the Hereafter. He said, and on the authority of Abu Sa’id And Ibn Masoud, Anas, Abu Hurairah, and Umm Salamah. Abu Issa said the hadith of Buraydah is a good and authentic hadith. And this should be acted upon when The people of knowledge do not see any harm in visiting graves. This is the opinion of Ibn al-Mubarak, al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq.
