حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الأَزْدِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ، وَأَبُو عَمَّارٍ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" خَيْرُ الصَّحَابَةِ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَيْرُ السَّرَايَا أَرْبَعُمِائَةٍ وَخَيْرُ الْجُيُوشِ أَرْبَعَةُ آلاَفٍ وَلاَ يُغْلَبُ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا مِنْ قِلَّةٍ " . هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ يُسْنِدُهُ كَبِيرُ أَحَدٍ غَيْرُ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ وَإِنَّمَا رُوِيَ هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُرْسَلاً . وَقَدْ رَوَاهُ حِبَّانُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْعَنَزِيُّ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . وَرَوَاهُ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُرْسَلاً .
Muhammad ibn Yahya al-Azdi al-Basri, Abu Ammar, and more than one person narrated to us. They said: Wahb ibn Jarir narrated to us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Yunus ibn Yazid, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah bin Utbah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “It is good.” The companions are four, the best companies are four hundred, the best armies are four thousand, and twelve thousand will not be defeated by a few. This is a hadith. Hasan Gharib, and no one has a significant chain of narrators other than Jarir bin Hazim. Rather, this hadith was narrated on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Mursal. It was narrated by Hibban bin Ali Al-Anazi, on the authority of Aqeel, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. And peace be upon him. It was narrated by Al-Layth bin Saad, on the authority of Aqeel, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, as a mursal report.
