Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27743

Humayd bin Masada narrated to us, Yazid bin Zurayi narrated to us, Husayn Al-Mu’allim narrated to us, on the authority of Amr bin Shuaib, on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather, that The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said in his sermon, “Fulfill the oath of pre-Islamic times, for it does not add to it, meaning Islam, except hardship or “Swear an oath in Islam.” He said, and on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, Umm Salamah, Jubayr ibn Mut’im, and Abu Hurairah. And Ibn Abbas and Qais bin Asim. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
