Hadith #28875

Suwayd bin Nasr told us, Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah told me Ibn Utbah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, that he informed him that Abu Sufyan ibn Harb informed him that Heraclius sent to him a group of Quraysh. They were merchants in the Levant, so they brought him and he mentioned the hadith. He said, then he called for the letter of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and it was read, and behold, it was in the name of God, the Most Gracious. The Most Merciful, from Muhammad, the servant of God and His Messenger, to Heraclius, the Great of the Romans. Peace be upon those who follow the guidance. As for what follows. Abu said: Jesus, this is a good and authentic hadith, and Abu Sufyan’s name is Sakhr bin Harb.
