Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27551

Ahmad bin Muhammad narrated to us, Abdullah bin Al-Mubarak narrated to us, Yunus bin Abi Ishaq narrated to us, Abu Al-Safar narrated to us, he said: A man from The Quraysh sharpened the tooth of a man from the Ansar, and Muawiyah antagonized him, so he said to Muawiyah, O Commander of the Faithful, this man has broken my tooth. Muawiyah, we will satisfy you. The other insisted on Muawiyah, but he agreed to it, but he did not satisfy him. Muawiyah said to him, “How about your friend?” And Abu al-Darda’. Sitting with him, Abu Darda’ said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, saying, “There is no man who is afflicted with anything in his body and gives it in charity.” Unless God raises him in status because of it and removes from him any sin because of it.” Al-Ansari said, “Did you hear it from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace?” He said, “I heard it.” My ears and my heart were aware of him. He said, “I will leave it to him.” Mu’awiyah said, “No offense, I will not disappoint you.” So he ordered money for him. Abu Issa said. This is a strange hadith. We only know it from this perspective. I do not know that the father of the book heard anything from Abu al-Darda’, and the father of the book’s name is Sa’id ibn Ahmad, also called Ibn Ahmad Al-Thawri.
