Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28936

Suwayd told us, Abdullah told us, Yunus bin Yazid told us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Nabhan, the client of Umm Salamah, that he told him that Umm Salamah told him that she was with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Maimunah. She said, “While we were with him, Ibn Umm Maktum came.” So he entered upon him, and that was after we had been commanded to veil, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Hide yourself from him.” So I said, O Messenger of God, isn’t he? He is blind and does not see us and does not know us. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “Are you two blind? Do you not make them see?” He said. Abu Issa, this is a good and authentic hadith.
